Kate Garraway dashed to hospital to deal with "another crisis" that prevented her from attending the recent Princess of Wales’ Christmas Carol service.
The medical emergency meant the Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, was forced to skip the recording of Royal Carols: Together at Christmas, at Westminster Abbey earlier this month.
Garraway’s husband Derek Draper is recovering from a long battle with Covid-19, which saw him spend over a year in hospital.
While the 55-year-old broadcaster did not state the reason for the hospital dash, she admitted to being gutted that she missed out on the service, set to air on TV on Christmas Eve.
On Friday’s episode of GMB, she said: "I’ll be absolutely glued to that tomorrow night because I was lucky enough to have an invite to it... I was gonna take my dad who was looking forward to it for so long, but unfortunately we ended up in the hospital with another crisis..."
The annual show was filmed on December 15 at Westminster Abbey, where the princess was joined by her husband Prince William and their children Prince George, nine, and Princess Charlotte, seven.
During last year’s event, Garraway read a touching poem to the audience.
Earlier this month, the mother-of-two burst into tears as she discussed Draper’s ongoing health battle during an appearance on Lorraine.
