Kate Garraway pulls out of anniversary GMB show following 'urgent' issues at home

Kate Garraway has revealed why she missed the eighth anniversary of Good Morning Britain on Friday.

The TV presenter updated her 1.1 million Instagram followers after she was nowhere to be seen during the latest instalment.

Kate usually co-hosts Friday's GMB alongside Ben Shephard but colleague Charlotte Hawkins stepped in instead, the Daily Star reports.

Ahead of the airing of her pre-recorded Saturday morning series Garraway's Good Stuff, the star explained why she missed her regular show.

Kate wrote: "So apologies for my abscence from @gmb this last week - had to deal with some 'urgents' at home.

"But before that managed to get a whole hour dollop of #garrawaysgoodstuff in the bag for you.

"Great #feelgood shares from @peterandre & @jamesbaymusic - plus this?!"

Good sport Kate shared a fun video from the show of her trampolining with singer Peter Andre.

"Note to self - wear a sports bra - note to @peterandre - wear a belt," she added. "Join me 8.30 a.m on @itv"

Fans supportively replied to Kate's message. One wrote: "Lots of love Kate hope derek n kids ok xxxxx."

Another wrote: Hope all OK Kate. Lovely to meet you at the care awards last month x

Viewers got to see the star - albeit in pre-recorded form - on Garraway's Good Stuff today (Saturday 30th April) where she interviewed singers Peter Andre and James Bay.

Kate's life has been turned upside down since her husband Derek Draper fell ill with Covid in March 2020.

He spent over a year in hospital, and is now at home with Kate and their children.

It’s thought Derek is one of the worst affected Covid survivors.

Earlier this year, Kate shockingly revealed that Derek would die within three days if his expert care was removed.

Kate often gets up every two hours in the night to help the overnight carer to move him in bed, and she has to wash and change his bed linen a staggering seven times a day.
