Kate Garraway faced the killer virus that has ravaged her husband Derek Draper as she delved into the effects of covid in Your Body Uncovered.
While the 54-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter was not looking into her husband's condition, which still remains serious, she was praised by viewers of the BBC2 series for facing up to the virus that has taken Derek from her at the moment.
Derek spent 374 days in hospital, with much of the time being in a coma, as the illness took control of his body.
After following the journey that Rozi had been on with her covid battle, Kate responded to her hopes that Derek would make a full recovery.
Kate replied as she looked to keep her emotions in tact: "In the fullness of time I hope that Derek gets there too. Even if he only gets halfway it'll be an improvement on now."
In this week's episode, Rozi recalled how she was struck down by the virus last summer.
She was taken to hospital by her husband when struggling to breather and Rozi told Kate what happened from there.
Rozi said: "I never felt so bad in my life. I just thought to myself I'm never coming out of here."
In the show, the latest technology helped Rozi see an incredible visual representations of her condition and how her lungs were flooded with the virus.
Kate said: "As I think you know my husband started getting sick at the beginning of the pandemic, when they didn't even know the effects on the body - a lot of them, of course, we are still discovering now.
"What do you hope seeing the effect of Covid on your lungs?"
Rozi replied: "It will help me close the circle for me to be able to understand in a visual way what it was that happened to my body that made me so very sick."
It was explained that more than a quarter of Rozi's air sacs had filled with fluid, mucus and dead cells, and that was the reason why she was struggling to breathe.
Rozi was amazed, saying: "This is the most fascinating thing I've ever seen in my life.
"Oh my goodness, it's so much.
"I don't think I have ever felt that ill in my life. You can't lift your limbs and you can't walk, and the headache."
Six weeks after being hospitalised, Rozi was given an all clear, which are the words that Kate desperately wants to hear in relation to Derek as well.
Viewers tweeted their praise and support for Kate, with one writing: " @kategarraway your face, you’re back living this with them, it must have been really difficult for you. #yourbodyuncovered "
Another wrote: "Looks fascinating but where the heck does dear #kategarraway get her strength/ energy from ?? #YourBodyUncovered "
While a third added: "Brilliant and interesting Kate - don’t know how you find the time but thanks for Your Body Uncovered."
