Kate Garraway fans help locate her husband Derek's vital medication after ITV presenter leaves them in a taxi

Kate Garraway sparked a sense of urgency on social media on Friday night after revealing that she had lost her husband Derek's vital medical supplies. The Good Morning Britain presenter brought Derek Draper, 54, home from hospital in a black cab for a weekend visit, but after they arrived home she discovered she had left his essential medication in the taxi.

The ITV star has been sharing updates on her husband's health after the former political lobbyist turned psychotherapist was hospitalised with coronavirus in March 2020. The virus 'wreaked havoc' on his body, leaving him in a coma which meant he spent more than a year in hospital.

Despite returning home in April 2021 where he now receives 24 hour care, Kate revealed last month that she was 'very fretful' as her husband was back 'in and out' of hospital.

Whilst the presenter's husband is still battling his recovery from Covid-19, Kate took to Twitter to plead for urgent help in finding the misplaced meds.

Kate, 55, tweeted: "@BC_Lostproperty help!! Have just brought Derek home in a mobility black cab from hospital for a weekend visit.

“I have left a case with all his meds and kit in the front. The driver recognised me but may not know it’s there - please look and get in touch - need urgently!!"

Kate's fans quickly responded and pulled together to provide any information that they thought may help.

Thankfully, one Twitter user came to the rescue as they revealed they knew the cab driver and would get in touch with them.

They wrote: "I know the driver Kate as he mentioned he'd taken you and your husband to me this evening. I'm trying to get in touch right now"

It was confirmed that Kate had retrieved the medical supplies as someone asked: "Did you manage to get in touch with the driver and get the meds back to Kate?", as the first helpful fan wrote: "Yup. All done."

Kate previously revealed that Derek's condition after Covid-19 is so bad that if he was left unaided for three days in a row, he could die.

She is currently caring for Derek herself and has insisted that she will never give up on the hopes that he will one day return to full health.
