Kate Garraway defends Ben Shephard as Tyson Fury corrects presenter in ITV Good Morning Britain appearance

Tyson Fury wasted no time in correcting Ben Shephard when he appeared to get his facts wrong during the latest edition of Good Morning Britain. The Gypsy King himself appeared live via video link on the ITV news programme on Friday (November 4).

He was on the show to chat to Ben and his co-host Kate Garraway about his upcoming fight and the release of his first-ever single. Tyson's return to the ring comes seven months after he announced he was retiring from the sport after knocking out Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium back in April.

But the heavyweight champion, from Whythenshaw, couldn't settle and now he is back, announcing on his 34th birthday in August, that he'll fight Derek Chisora for the third time on December 3,

Discussing his previous bout and his return to the ring, Ben commented: "I was at your last fight at Wembley, it was an extraordinary experience." But as he carried on, he made a mistake that Tyson wasn't going to let go. "I can't imagine what it would have been like for you, 80,000 people in that stadium," he said.

"It was just miraculous..." Before Ben could continue, dad-of-six Tyson, who appeared live from his home in Morcombe, butted in by stating: "94,000 Ben, 94,000." Kate, 55, then backed up her co-host by saying: "To be fair, he was watching you rather than counting, he was distracted."

Speaking about why he came back out of retirement, Tyson said: "I was retired from April until July, so three or four months." He added: "I needed a good rest after being in boxing for such a long time, I wanted to spend some time with my family and at home. I did that for three or four months and I realised that I miss what I do. I miss fighting, training, gearing up for a big event."

As well as getting back into his sport, Tyson is turning to music. He has covered Neil Diamond’s classic Sweet Caroline, which is set for release next month. The track was chosen thanks to its status as a fan-favourite at many UK sporting events, with Tyson saying he feels a particular connection to the track.

"Sweet Caroline is a record I’ve always loved and I’m excited to record and release it," the boxer said. He added: "And thank

s to the folks over at Warner Music, they’ve given me the opportunity to do that, and what better time to release it than around the World Cup!"

The single is also being released in support of mental health charity, Talk Club. The charity offers support to men who are struggling with their mental health by providing ‘talking groups, sports groups and therapy to help keep you mentally fit’ via a range of online and in-person methods.
