Kate Ferdinand sparks concern as she disappears from social media during health scare

Kate Ferdinand has returned online to reassure worried fans she is okay.

The former TOWIE star is normally an active presence on social media, but has been uncharacteristically quiet on Instagram recently - sparking concern from her loyal fans.

On Monday night, the star took to her Instagram Stories to let her 1.4 million followers she has been battling Covid-19 in private.

Addressing her online silence, Kate, 30, explained how she appreciated everyone's concern while she was forced to isolate from the viral disease.

Captioning an image of white roses, the former reality TV star wrote: "Thank you for all your messages checking in! I appreciate you all.

"I've been fine, I had COVID (I had to isolate) & then have been enjoying getting back to normal life & spending time with my family."

Kate - who welcomed son Cree into the world with Rio Ferdinand in 2020 - then went on to share exactly what she had been missing while in quarantine.

Sharing a snap of a stroller - with baby Cree presumably inside - the busy mum wrote: "Took going for a walk for granted... wow I've missed them!"

The fitness fanatic then shared a clip of her return to the gym after two weeks off - confessing it was "hard" to get back to her exercise regime.

"First day back at the gym post Covid, I've had around 14 days out!" Kate captioned a snippet of her pumping some iron.

"Wow it was hard... breathless and a real lack of enthusiasm today but we got it done."

Kate's experience with Covid-19 will have come shortly after the star returned from an idyllic family holiday with former footballer Rio and their four children.

One year on from giving birth to baby Cree, former reality TV star Kate wowed her online fans with shots of herself in skimpy bikinis last month.

"Grateful for the most fabulous holiday with my special family, memories to last a lifetime," the blonde beauty captioned the collection of snaps to her 1.4 million followers at the time.

Visible in Kate's family snaps were Rio, Cree, one, and her three step-children, Lorenz, 15, Tate, 13, and Tia, 10.

Speaking on social media before Christmas, the stunning star admitted she dreads being asked: "Are they your kids?"

"I have 4 children, if you suggest I have 1, I will correct you," the star wrote on the Blended Instagram account last year.

"If you treat 1 of them different to the other 3 I will also have a big problem, I believe all 4 of the children should be treated equally."

The doting mum added: "If you ask if I am their mum I will say I am their step mum & although they are not biologically mine I still see them as my children; it’s my job to nurture & care for them and make sure they are given all the love the deserve."

Kate set up Blended as a community for other blended families to realise they are not alone.
