Kate Ferdinand has revealed the adorable way she told her husband Rio's children she was pregnant.
The TOWIE star, 31, is expecting her second baby with the former footballer, 44, after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage last year.
Speaking about sharing the couple's news with Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11 on her Blended podcast, she said: "We actually told the kids on Christmas Eve, we put it in their Christmas Eve boxes.
"We were hopeful they would all open them at the same time, but Lorenz opened his first. He opened it and just looked at us as he's old enough to keep quiet."
Kate continued: "Tia then opens it and screams; Tate said 'You've opened it before me' and Cree doesn't know what's going on."
The reality star then revealed her stepson already knew she was pregnant. Explaining her clothes got tighter quickly, Kate said: "Tate said to be me 'I know you're pregnant.'
"I was getting flustered because we didn't want to tell them just yet, so I said 'You don't know I'm pregnant because I'm not pregnant.'"
However, Kate admitted it was difficult to hide the news from Rio's kids because they were old enough to spot the signs.
In particular, she said there were certain foods she didn't fancy, including fish, which was the same when she was pregnant with Cree.
While explaining the whole family were delighted with the news, Kate admitted she was a "bit nervous" to make the announcement.
"I think it's because of my last miscarriage," she mused. "It just makes the whole situation a little bit more anxious, you're a little bit more worried.
"But I'm so grateful to be able to share my journey with you and be open and honest."
Kate broke her happy news on Instagram on the weekend when she shared an adorable video in which a hint of a baby bump can be seen.
She also shared another photo today.
After going public with her pregnancy, the mum-of-one was inundated with support from fans and her celebrity pals.
"Huge congratulations darling," wrote fellow former Towie star Billie Shepherd while Georgia Kousoulou responded: "Awww so happy for you."
While Vicky Pattison posted: "OMG babe! Congratulations.
Kate and Rio welcomed son Cree in December 2020, a year after getting hitched in a star-studded wedding ceremony in Turkey surrounded by their family and friends.
The pair met while on holiday in Dubai in 2017 when Kate was a reality star on ITV's TOWIE.
