Kate Ferdinand mum-shamed as she enjoys huge family Christmas with 18 guests

Kate Ferdinand has been mum-shamed as she enjoyed a huge family Christmas with 18 guests.

The mum-of-one, 31, posted a pic of her blended family, but chose to cover the faces of the kids, including Cree, 18 months, who she shares with hubby Rio and his three children Lorenz, 16 Tate, 14, and Tia, 11.

The guests all looked ready for the big day, grinning in matching festive pyjamas, with Kate captioning the snap: "So grateful for such a special Christmas spent with our family."

But fans slammed the TOWIE star, saying there was no point in posting the pic because so many of the guests' faces were covered.

One asked: “What’s the intent in posting with so many covered?”

Another said: “Why post if you don’t want peoples face to be seen !!!”

A third wrote: “Don’t understand a photo like this when so many faces are covered. Yes, keep the kids private but this photo is pointless.”

While a fourth penned: “What even is the point of posting this picture??? It’s clearly a private photo with faces covered up. I don’t get why you would still continue the posts and photos when blanked out? Why not just keep them private?”

However, another fan defended Kate, saying: "Why are people being so hateful towards the fact they want to respect not only their children's but others' privacy?"

Kate never shares pics of her and Rio's kids' faces on Instagram, but does sometimes update fans with what's going on in their lives.

She recently shared an adorable photo of the football pundit hugging his children after Rio returned from Qatar where he'd been reporting on the World Cup.

Kate captioned the pic: "Daddy’s home. 4 weeks has felt like 8 Couldn’t be happier to have my husband home."

Rio responded to the post saying: "Happiest when with family."

Despite their five-year relationship, Kate has confessed she still feels like an outsider at times in her blended family.

The mum-of-one is stepmother to the former footballer's three kids after their mum Rebecca tragically died from cancer in 2015.

Kate admitted she can sometimes get "over-emotional" and not feel a part of their family, despite pointing out how welcoming everyone has been to her.

Speaking to Alex Willumsen on her podcast, about how long it should take for a blended family to feel fully formed, she said: "They say four to seven years and I'm at the kind of five year mark and I'm feeling good, I'm feeling a lot better than where I was at the beginning."

However, the influencer then confessed: "I still feel... no one makes me feel like this by the way, this is me and myself... that I'm sometimes not part of the family."
