Kate Ferdinand has revealed that her step-son Lorenz has moved out of her and Rio Ferdinand's family home, leaving her “devastated”. The 16-year-old has gone to live with another family, while he pursues a career in football, like his dad.
Podcast host Kate, 31, discussed Lorenz's new living situation on the latest episode of her podcast Blended, which featured husband Rio, 44, as a guest, the Mirror reports. The former England and Manchester United defender – who has been married to Kate since 2019 – is dad to Lorenze, as well as Tate, 14 and Tia, 11, through his marriage to late wife Rebecca Ellison, who died in 2015.
Rio and Kate also share two-year-old Cree and are currently expecting another child. On a recent episode of Blended, Kate mentioned that Lorenz is currently living elsewhere.

The teenager is understood to have signed for Brighton & Hove Albion's under-18s team, following in the footsteps of his dad, who played football professionally for 20 years. During a discussion about the family, Kate said: “I don't even know if anyone knows this. [Lorenz] doesn't live at home at the moment. He's in digs with another family.”
Rio then added: “Because of what he's doing. He's playing football. We ain't just thrown him out.” The ex-footballer then talked of how emotional Kate had been when Lorenz left their home in Kent, saying she had been “crying” over the situation.
Former The Only Way Is Essex star Kate then added: “I was devastated when he moved out. [...] I miss him so much. We still see him twice a week but I miss him so much and that's taken a lot of getting used to.”
She explained that another family are looking after Lorenz and they have been complimentary about him, with Rio later adding that his son had been praised for his manners.
