Kate Beckinsale deletes photos from hospital stay amid undisclosed health battle

Kate Beckinsale has removed all traces of her hospital stay from Instagram, nearly a month after revealing she was dealing with an undisclosed health concern.

Previously her feed contained multiple photos of her in her hospital room, but fans noticed that her updates were deleted without explanation earlier this week.

Additionally, comments on her social media have been restricted, though it's uncertain when exactly the British star, 50, made the change.

The Standard has contacted Kate Beckinsale’s rep for comment.

The Underworld actress first alluded to her health woes on March 11 when she shared a heartfelt tribute to her mum Judy Loe on Mother’s Day.

The post included several photos of herself, wearing a sizable black bow and a hospital gown while lying in a hospital bed.

“Thank you to those that love us and support us when it’s s**t and try to make sure there are some bits that aren’t,” she wrote in honour of her mother.

“And for looking after our dogs when we can’t, and lead us to remember happy things when we can’t. And turn up when we are sick and sit with us . . And send balloons and check in and pull us out of wells with love.”

The post sparked concern among many fans, who questioned the actress's well-being. However, Beckinsale didn't respond to any of the concerned comments.

While in hospital for undisclosed reasons, the actress has been visited by her beloved pet dog, Myf, and cat, Willow.

After she posted a snap with her Pomeranian, Beckinsale was targeted by a troll who falsely claimed her cherished dog would die as she battles an undisclosed health issue.

The unkind message read: “Her cat is dead so I guess this dog will do”.

However it was was quickly followed up by: “Omg. I didn't mean to send that to you. ignore.”

Sharing a screenshot of the DM, she responded on her Instagram Story: “Both my dads are dead so I guess my mum will do, you could also say.

“If you really meant for me not to see this you could have deleted it. You chose not to.

“You wanted me to feel pain. I already do, in many ways. Don't feel you need to message me again. Please.”

The actress has been under increasing strain in recent months, including grieving the death of her stepfather Roy Battersby in January after suffering “a massive stroke” while battling two forms of cancer.

Her biological father, Richard Beckinsale, passed away in 1979 at the age of 31 from a heart attack.
