Kate Beckinsale Claps Back At Body Shamer With Powerful Response

Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale recently took to social media to address comments about her body, responding to a follower who criticized her appearance. The actress posted a video on Instagram where she explained that she had lost weight due to stress and grief following the shocking death of her stepfather and her mother's battle with stage 4 cancer.

In the video, Beckinsale can be seen putting on a hair net while wearing a minimal pink ensemble. She shared that some of her followers had expressed dissatisfaction with her not engaging in age-appropriate activities. One Instagram user commented on the clip, suggesting that she should do squats because her 'ass ran away.'

Beckinsale responded to the comment by revealing the personal struggles she had been facing. She disclosed that the stress and grief had caused her to lose weight rapidly and led to health issues that required a six-week hospital stay. She mentioned that the grief had even resulted in a hole in her esophagus, causing her to vomit blood.

The actress explained that she had been working on a movie that dealt with themes related to the death of her father, which further exacerbated her emotional turmoil. Beckinsale emphasized that she was focused on her health and well-being, rather than the opinions of others about her appearance.

This Instagram post marked the first time Beckinsale shared details about her hospitalization, which had been previously hinted at in a post from March. In that post, she included images of herself in a hospital bed with a black bow on her head, while celebrating her mother on U.K.'s Mother's Day.

Beckinsale's candid response to the criticism she faced serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing mental and physical health during challenging times. Her openness about her struggles resonated with many of her followers, sparking conversations about self-care and resilience.
