MANGALURU: As part of the medical hub beautification project initiated by Mangaluru MLA U T Khader, medical, dental and engineering colleges, in association with gram panchayats, the forest department and Jana Shikshana Trust, will hold a day-long campaign, to clean and plant saplings on the Thokkotu-Mudipu road on Saturday.
Recently, Mangaluru MLA U T Khader had prepared a roadmap to beautify and provide infrastructure on the Thokkotu-Mudipu road stretch in his constituency, where there are four medical colleges, two dental colleges, a homoeopathy college, Mangaluru University, Infosys and many educational institutions. the MLA had taken initiatives to form a committee involving all stakeholders, to beautify the new four-lane road, and maintain it. Jana Shikshana Trust director N Sheena Shetty said that an action plan has been prepared to hold a one-day campaign, to make the Thokkotu-Mudipu road clean and green.
MLA Khader will launch the drive of cleaning the road stretch and planting saplings at Kuthar near Thokkottu at 9am. The drive will be held in six stretches, including Kuthar-Deralakatte, Deralakatte-Natekal, Asaigoli- P A College Road, PA College Road- Kamblapadavu and Kamblapadavu-Kurnadu on the road from Thokkot to Mudipu, Shetty said.
