Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress has lodged a police complaint against BJP National President JP Nadda and party's IT Cell Head Amit Malviya with the city police in connection to posting derogatory posts against party leaders including Rahul Gandhi.

The complaint has also been lodged against Chandigarh BJP President Arun Sood for releasing an animated video of Rahul Gandhi, claiming that Congress is indulging in anti-national activities.

The complaint has been lodged by Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge and KPCC Spokesperson Ramesh Babu, under IPC Sections 505 (2), 553 (A), 120 (B), 34.

Malviya had posted the video from his official account on June 17, claiming Rahul Gandhi indulges in anti-national activities on his visits outside India. It also claims Congress and Rahul Gandhi are breaking the nation, Kharge alleged.

"We have decided to close down the factory of lies run by the BJP party. They could get away with it as it was their government here. The fact-check unit was closed then. Fact-check unit would be strengthened. I have already spoken to the chief minister," he said.

Kharge said people like Nadda, Malviya and Sood will have to prove the "lies" shelled out by them from their accounts. (UNI)
