Karen's Diner coming to Leeds in new restaurant where rude staff insult customers while they eat

A restaurant with an unusual twist is set to come to Leeds - people have raved about the eatery as it encourages staff to be rude to customers.

Hot off the back of its success in Australia, novelty chain Karen's Diner recently opened its first UK location in Sheffield. And the vulgar restaurant, which prides itself on rude staff and terrible service, went down a treat. The chain now plans to come to Leeds for a 'pop-up experience.'

Karen’s Diner Leeds has described its pop-up experience as 'a place where you can complain until the cows come home because we literally don’t care.'

While you might think people would not enjoy paying to be insulted, customers are going wild over the diner. Yorkshire Live reporter Alex Grove, an eager fan who has already tried it out, said the experience "did not disappoint".

He was even shocked by "just how insulting, rude and terrible" his visit was. Highlights included staff heckling his friend for her "f****** embarrassing" vegan order and handing him a hat that read "I have a small penis."

The food has some great names such as the burgers 'Karen’s Got Real Beef', 'The Fiery Karen' and 'The "I Want To See Your Manager" Karen" - they pair their food with terrible, laughable service.

Customers are invited to 'vent their anger' over a burger and a shake with "100 percent rude staff," they also serve cocktails, beer, wine, 'thickshakes.' Or house shooters including 'The Music Is Too Loud', 'I’ve Been Waiting 10 Minutes For Some Service' and 'You’ve Just Lost My Business.'

People have raved about their experiences at the Sheffield restaurant so its hoped the diner will be as much as a hit in Leeds. One 82-year-old grandad had the shock of his life when his grandchildren took him to the diner for his birthday - a video they posted of the visit went viral. Read the full story here.
