Karen Dunbar wants Ayr to have a dance music festival every year after she made her first DJ appearance in the town she grew up in.
The Chewin' the Fat legend says she "had a ball" as she blasted hits in the VIP area of Ewan McVicar's Pavilion Festival.
Karen, best known for her gags in the comedy sketch show alongside Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, showed her talents behind the decks, performing on a Red Bull truck with built in speakers.
She was even joined on vehicle by the man of the moment, as Ewan jumped on disguised as a steward.
Speaking to Ayrshire Live after her set, Karen said: "The festival is brilliant, and I tell you what, Ayr desperately needs it.
"It’s a brilliant town, it’s not let itself go but it’s just the way things are just now but you can see thousands and thousands of folk here today.
"They want to come here, it’s a brilliant bit to be at. Let’s hope they do this every year."
Speaking about Ewan joining her, the comedian joked: “It was lovely to see him but I was also like ‘I’m trying to DJ here’."
Karen signed her set off with Waterboys 'Whole of the Moon' as she got revellers singing along to the iconic song.
And she felt the moment was symbolic, as she recalled once seeing the Waterboys at the Ayr Pavilion next to the festival site.
She added: "I had a total ball, I didn’t even know what I was going to play next but it felt like it didn’t matter.
"I’ve been DJ’ing for 30 years and that’s the first time I’ve played in Ayr and the last song that I played, which I never play as the last son even though I love it was the ‘Whole of the Moon’, and we’re standing next to the Pavilion and I went to see the Waterboys
"The lead singer of the Waterboys is from Prestwick. I went to see the Waterboys in the Pavilion years ago and I just thought ‘that is the song to finish with’.
"I’m looking at the Pavilion and playing the son and I’m thinking ‘what a life!’."
