Fans of the Kardashians have sparked a wild conspiracy theory that Travis Barker originally had plans to date Kim when he moved to her home neighbourhood in Calabasas, California – rather than grow close to his now wife Kourtney.
The 46-year-old Blink 182 drummer tied-the-knot with 43-year-old mother-of-three Kourtney in Italy over the weekend – having had a publicity stunt wedding in Las Vegas back in April and an official courthouse wedding in California the week before their Italian nuptials.
The couple got married after dating for less than two years – although the pair had been friends for years before that.
And while Travis and Kourtney have been very public about their love – sharing some extremely affectionate photos of themselves online and snogging like teenagers whenever cameras are nearby – some think he was originally only interested in Kim Kardashian, making his marriage to Kourtney something of a consolation prize.
Fans of the fame hungry family have gone wild after a new episode of their reality show, The Kardashians, aired in which showed family matriarch Kris Jenner telling Kourtney about Travis’ original move to their exclusive neighbourhood.
Kris said: “Do you want to know the real reason why he moved to Calabasas?
"He said, 'Because I knew she lived in Calabasas, and I knew she was the love of my life, and I didn't even know her like that, but I just knew if I couldn't date her or be with her because she was with someone else that at least I could live by her.’”
Travis is believed to have moved to Calabasas in 2007, Kourtney was dating Scott Disick at the time – who she shares her three children with; Mason, 12, Penelope, nine, and Reign, seven.
However, Kim was also in a relationship at that time too – NFL player Reggie Bush who she was in a romance with from 2007 until 2010.
Fans have been raking through past quotes by Travis and are aware he had commented on being attracted to Kim in the past.
In his 2015 autobiography, Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums, Travis refered to Kim as “f***ing hot” adding that she's “eye candy”.
And he also confessed that he had a huge “crush” on her.
By the time of the autobiography’s release, Kim was already married to Kanye West – who she divorced last year – and with whom she shares four children.
With the quotes and dates in mind, fans have swarmed social media to share their wild ideas.
One tweeted: “On the Kardashians, Kris Jenner tells a story about how Travis Barker moved to Calabasas to love Kourtney from afar. Well I’ve read his book and knew this….. he was after Kim not Kourtney. Awk."
A second concurred, writing: "Travis Barker wanted a Kardashian so bad, he spent years talking about Kim in interviews and then he says he moved to Calabasas to live close to Kourtney years before he even knew her."
While a third tweeted: "He had a huge crush on Kim too right?? Kinda awkward". In response, another fan responded: "Like not even a little crush, he was clearly obsessed."
What is clear, however, is that the new Mrs Barker is Kourtney herself – with her and Travis swapping vows in a lavish ceremony in Portofino, northern Italy, on Sunday.
