Kanye West is facing a federal lawsuit filed by Jennifer An, a former contestant on America’s Next Top Model, who alleges that he sexually assaulted her during a music video shoot in 2010.
The incident reportedly took place while filming the music video for La Roux‘s track “In For the Kill”, which West contributed to. An claims that the situation escalated after West selected her from a lineup of models, allegedly saying, “Give me the Asian girl.”
What followed was a disturbing scene at a hotel in New York City, which An describes as both humiliating and dangerous.
According to the lawsuit documents obtained by TMZ, An was wearing lingerie when West allegedly stated, “That’s why I chose you.”
She claims that he then began to strangle her with both hands and smothered her face before forcing his fingers down her throat in an attempt to “emulate forced oral sex”.
This ordeal reportedly lasted over a minute, during which West allegedly shouted, “This is art. This is fucking art. I am like Picasso.”
An expressed that the experience felt more like a “pornographic gagging/deep throat/BDSM fetishes” scene rather than a legitimate music video shoot. Notably, neither An nor West appeared in the final version of the video.
In her lawsuit, An is not only targeting West but also Universal Music Group, accusing them of enabling gender-based violence and creating unsafe working conditions. She is suing the company and West for gender-motivated violence.
This lawsuit adds to a growing list of legal challenges facing West, who is also dealing with lawsuits from former staff. This includes his ex-assistant Lauren Pisciotta, who sued West for sexual harassment and stalking while she was employed by him between 2021 and 2022.
There are also rumours that West is currently going through a divorce from his wife Bianca Censori after she was spotted in Melbourne following allegations circulating online of West wanting to sleep with Censori’s mother.
So far, neither Universal Music Group or Kanye West have responded or addressed the allegations.
