Kanye West stormed out of his interview with Piers Morgan after the duo clashed over the rapper's anti-Semitic tweet.
The Black Skinhead rapper, who is legally known as Ye, was being interviewed by the former Good Morning Britain presenter before the pair got locked in a fierce discussion. The full interview will air on Friday night, but in teaser clips shown the two battle it out to get their voices heard during the chat.
According to Piers, 57, the heated topics got a bit much for the chart-topper after he walked out of filming. Piers revealed that Ye's walk out caused the team "quite a struggle to come and get him back" but added he is glad the musician did reappear, reports the Mirror.
He said: "I’m glad I did because we ended up getting to where I think in his mind he wanted to get to. I think he wanted to atone for what he had done and the damage he had caused. But he was too fired up and too proud to actually go there until we got towards the end."
Sharing a clip of the interview on social media, Piers wrote: "BREAKING: I just finished an extraordinary, fiery, passionate, funny & shocking 2-hour interview with @kanyewest - in which he makes full apology for his anti-Semitic comments about ‘going death con 3 on Jewish people.’ First clips air on @piersmorganuncensored tonight."
It comes after Piers confronted Ye on his anti-Semitic tweet in which he wrote: "I'm a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I'm going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE." While the singer did apologise in the end, it's said to have taken almost two hours for him to do so. In that time, he had labelled Piers a "Karen", telling him "you don't hold accountability to the pain".
Piers fired back: "I'm not a Karen and I'm not going to cancel you and I'm not going to censor you, I'm simply going to challenge you on what you're saying." His response was met by a grinning Ye who quipped: "You can't cancel me!"
Elsewhere in the chat, Ye, who is currently going through a divorce from Kim Kardashian, mocked Piers for being worth more than him. Ye joked that it should be him offering the presenter advice, not the other way round.
In the end, Ye said: "I will say I'm sorry for the people I hurt with the 'death con', with the confusion, I feel like I caused hurt and confusion and I am sorry for the families of the people who had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through. And that I used my platform where you say, I hurt people, and I was hurt."
He added that it's "wrong to hold an apology hostage".
