Kanye West slams Mark Zuckerberg for 'kicking' Donald Trump off social media

Kanye West has hit out at Mark Zuckerberg and said he "thinks he is the government", as the rapper discussed his and Donald Trump's social media ban.

Kanye was temporarily banned from Instagram and Twitter earlier this month following a violation of the social media platforms' policies. The 45-year-old had shared anti-Semitic comments on the sites, which were later removed.

Former US President Donald Trump has been banned from Twitter "indefinitely" and suspended from Facebook and Instagram until at least January 2023, when the suspension will be revisited.

In an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, Ye criticised the social media platforms and said they "feel they're more powerful than the US government".

The bombshell programme airs tonight on TalkTV at 8pm where Kanye will openly discuss his opinion on freedom of speech.

During the shocking interview, host Piers, 57, asks if Kanye thinks it's "wrong" that he and Trump have been banned from these platforms.

The musician admits: "Actually, I was talking to Trump a couple of days ago.

"He was like, I'm not going to do his voice right, but he was saying, 'You know, I had 277 million followers and the next day I had nothing,' and that related to you know, Mark Zuckerberg - Meta, you know, Mark Zuckerberg thinks he is the government.

"These tech companies feel they're more powerful than the US Government to the point of actually kicking the actual President of the United States off of an American social media platform.

"This is the world we live in."

Elsewhere, Kanye says he tries to do "five things that people have been historically killed for" every day in support of freedom of speech.

"So whether you agree with me or not, I believe people are going to feel the fact that someone is brave enough to say something," he adds.

Trump recently jumped to the defence of Kanye and said he had been "really nice to me".

During an appearance on the conservative Salem News Channel, the American businessman said he "hadn’t really seen" Ye's recent statements but said he had watched the interview with Fox News's Tucker Carlson.

Trump said: "He was really nice to me, beyond anybody. He was great to me and he was great to the MAGA movement which was really impressive."

He added that Kanye often "will make a statement and a lot of people will think it’s worse than he means it to be."
