Kanye West pictured wearing bizarre rubber mask for Michael Cohen meeting in NYC

He wore the mask “so people would not recognize him”

Kanye West was spotted having coffee on the Upper East Side on Tuesday with Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, for the second time this month.

But it wasn’t the unlikely meetup that’s turned heads. It was Kanye West’s bizarre rubbery mask, ironically, “so people would not recognize him.”

“We were just getting together,” Cohen told Page Six.

“The purpose [of the mask] was so that people would not recognize him … the first 10 minutes we sat down, he was mobbed by people … who wanted photos, and to say hello. So he put on this mask to give him some anonymity, which interestingly enough, did not really work.”

“Kanye was very calm and relaxed with no security,” 5WPR CEO Torossian told Page Six. “He was wearing the mask most of the time and said he was wearing it so he could walk around freely.”

“There was no security, he was just wandering the streets with the mask. He was a pleasant guy. He and Michael Cohen were talking about real estate,” he added.

On Tuesday, the star also made headlines for legally changing his name to ‘Ye’ (pronounced ‘yay’) after a Los Angeles judge approved his request.

The 44-year-old has seemingly wanted to change his name for some time now after tweeting 2018, “The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE”, in 2018.

Three years ago, he also told radio host Big Boy: “I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible. In the Bible it means you. So, I’m you. And I’m us. It’s us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one to just Ye, just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused – everything. It’s more of a reflection of who we are [as] beings.”
