Kanye West defends ‘brave and hot’ Bianca Censori over nude Grammys dress in defiant post

Kanye West has hit back at critics after his wife, Bianca Censori, faced intense backlash for her nude Grammys outfit.

The 47-year-old rapper and his 30-year-old wife are known for their bold fashion choices, with Censori often turning heads in sheer, revealing ensembles alongside West. However, their latest statement look pushed the boundaries even further.

At Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, she stepped onto the red carpet in a completely see-through minidress, leaving fans stunned.

The provocative outfit sparked outrage online, with many accusing West of degrading his wife. Lip-readers even claimed to have caught the rapper telling Bianca she was "making a scene" during their red carpet appearance.

Amid the controversy, Ye has now taken to X to defend his other half, responding to the widespread criticism of her look.

He penned: “My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world. I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night Thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot.

“She took a break from shooting her first film to make a movie in real life We Tailored that invisible dress 6 times And just like magic poof we disappeared.”

He then went on to thank the outlets that acknowledged the look, giving special mention to American Vogue, which he said highlighted "rightful strength."

"Thank you to all the outlets that recognised us and reflected the energy we put in," he wrote. "But I have to give a special shout-out to the American Vogue team for writing an article that portrays my wife in such a positive light and acknowledges rightful strength."

He ended with a defiant message to his critics: “People asked how your mother would feel. You don't know my mama, b***h.”

An opinion piece by Raven Smith, published in American Vogue, analysed the look and the discomfort surrounding the fact that little is known about Censori other than her nude appearance.

“While I’m not exactly promoting nudity on the red carpet, it’s worth noting that Bianca’s body is her own, and therefore her choice. I hate to state the obvious, but a woman has the right to wear whatever she chooses,” the article stated.

“I don’t think we should assume that because Bianca’s pretty much naked, she’s not fully in control of herself, or that she’s not thoroughly enjoying her exhibitionism.”

It’s not the first time Ye has defended his wife’s appearance. On Tuesday, he shared a post on his Instagram which implied that his wife’s stunt had overshadowed the winners at the awards show.

The stunt sparked outrage on social media, with people blasting it as “creepy” and “disturbing”, while others slammed West for his exploitative behaviour.

In response, he posted an image of the Google Search Analytics for the US in the last day, revealing more people had searched for “Bianca Censori grammys” than “Grammy winners 2025”.

Following the shock appearance, reports emerged that the rapper and Censori had turned up uninvited, and were escorted out by cops after their “crazy stunt”.

While the average observer might be concerned about the legality of her almost-nude look, the LAPD told Newsweek on Monday, February 4, that they were not aware of any legal charges being levelled at her.

In California, public nudity is not illegal in itself but public indecency is. To charge someone with public indecency, the incident needs to involve someone intentionally exposing their genitals or naked body in front of someone who could be offended.

This stipulation that it needs to be in front of someone could be offended could have been negated by the fact that Censori was at an awards show, where it’s common for unusual outfits to be displayed.

If Censori was charged with indecent exposure, those charges could also expand to include Kanye West for assisting her.

However, as it stands, there is no evidence to suggest that either member of the couple will be charged.
