Kanye West has waxed lyrical about the pain of divorce as he faces his future without soon-to-be ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
The 44-year-old rap sensation split from 41-year-old Kim last year – and seven years after they tied-the-knot in a lavish Italian wedding ceremony, complete with golden loos.
In recent weeks, however, Kanye has shown signs he is struggling with the prospect of a future without Kim as his wife and has repeated lashed out at the reality star and her 28-year-old boyfriend Pete Davidson while also pining that he wants to win her back.
Now, 48 hours after Kim was declared “legally single” by a judge and after she erased the name “West” from her social media handles, Kanye has shared what appears to be a poem about divorce and how it makes him feel.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, the musician shared a post with the word “Divorce” written in huge, red letters.
Beneath this, were words that compared divorce to a variety of other feelings, injuries and illnesses – with the rapper comparing the end of a marriage to “full blown Covid”.
He also compared the process to “walking on glass”, “running through a glass wall” and like “your hand was burned on the stove.”
Other lines hinted at his true feelings about his collapsed marriage to Kim – with whom he shares four children; eight-year-old daughter North, six-year-old son Saint, four-year-old daughter Chicago, and two-year-old son Psalm.
Kanye wrote: “Divorce feels like your kids were snatched from your control/ Divorce feels like you’ve been shot and traffic is slow/Divorce feels like heavy breathing.
“Divorce feels like grandma never got over that cold/ Divorce feels like suffocating/ Barely breathing.”
PageSix reports: “It is unclear if West wrote the words himself or if, perhaps, they are part of a new musical project he plans to release.”
On Wednesday, Kim was declared legally single by a US court following the latest hearing in her and Kanye’s divorce proceedings.
The star, who appeared in front of officials via video link, had made the request to be declared single last December.
And the motion to change her marital status has been granted before details of child custody and property are worked out.
Fans noticed that Kim swiftly changed her name from ‘Kim Kardashian-West’ on social media, back to ‘Kim Kardashian’ following the motion.
While following reports suggested Kim and Kanye will have an “open door’ policy in terms of their child custody with either parent able to have access to their kids whenever they wish.
