Kanye West claims he pitched Django Unchained to Quentin Tarantino who 'stole' idea

Kanye West has made claims that Quentin Tarantino 'stole' the idea for Django Unchained from him before turning the idea into an award winning movie.

In his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, Ye made it known that he feels Tarantino got the idea for the film from him.

Explaining his claims that the concept was originally his idea, Ye said: "Tarantino can write a movie about slavery where – actually him and Jamie – they got the idea from me because the idea for Django, I pitched to Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino as the video for Gold Digger. Then Tarantino turned it into a film."

Kanye's 2005 music video didn't go with the theme Ye claims to have pitched, instead it features West and Foxx singing in front of colourful backgrounds and girls dancing as though on front covers of magazines.

The movie in question was released in 2012 and is a revisionist Western film following a freed slave, played by Foxx, who wants to free his wife from slavery and as a result teams up with a bounty hunter, King Schultz.

The Mirror has reached out to Tarantino's representative for comment.

This is the latest in a number of controversies surrounding the rapper at the moment, Ye left his fans stunned when he made his Paris Fashion Week debut and was seen wearing a White Lives Matter shirt.

He wore the controversial shirt again shortly afterwards as he went to support his daughter North West at a basketball game.

The controversial fashion designer has also questioned the death of George Floyd, which sparked the late George's family to file a lawsuit against the music creator.

In his interview with Piers Morgan, Ye elaborated on his stance saying: "Do you have friends that were killed by police officers? Do you have friends that were locked up? Do you have people aborting half your race? No.

"So I am the black person with the black experience that's worth $11 billion. And as the most influential person on the planet, I am questioning it."

The controversial star didn't stop there, he was slammed when he tweeted: "I'm a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I'm going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE," – but he has no regrets.

When Piers confronted him about his comments the rapper called him a ' Karen ' before apologising.
