Kansas will open 50th anniversary tour in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Kansas will launch its 50th Anniversary Tour – Another Fork in the Road in Pittsburgh on June 2 at the Benedum Center in downtown.

The concert is presented by Rich Engler, one of the promoters responsible for breaking the progressive-rock band nationally in the mid ‘70s, with help from radio station WDVE, which put the fledgling band in rotation.

Kansas also performed its 40th anniversary reunion concert at the Benedum, formerly the Stanley Theater, which hosted the band in the ‘70s.

Kansas, best known for the classics "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind,” consists of original members Phil Ehart (drums) and Rich Williams (guitar) along with longtime members David Ragsdale (violin) and Billy Greer (bass), with singer Ronnie Platt and keyboardist Tom Brislin.
