The trade agreement was reached during the NWSL regular season break and will be finalized following the opening of the secondary transfer window on August 1.
In exchange for Cook, the Reign received $115,000, consisting of $40,000 in allocation money and $75,000 in intra-league transfer funds. An additional $25,000 in intra-league transfer funds is contingent on Cook meeting certain incentive-based requirements.
Cook, who joined the Reign on a short-term loan in 2020 and signed a three-year contract in 2021, expressed gratitude for her time with the club and is looking forward to the new chapter in her career with the Kansas City Current.
