Kansas City Chiefs told they have key advantage over Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play in their third Super Bowl in four years with Patrick Mahomes looking to secure his second championship in the NFL, and have been told they hold a significant advantage over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Chiefs will come into the game as underdogs against the Eagles, after their impressive season with a 14-3 record and comfortably defeating the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers en route to the biggest game of the season.

Many would argue that the Eagles have a more complete roster, dominant on both offensive and defensive line and having strong skill players at wide receiver, tight end, cornerback and safety.

What's more, quarterback Mahomes will be playing though a high ankle sprain, after suffering the injury in the close win over the Jacksonville Jaguars two weeks ago - an injury that usually takes as long as six-to-eight weeks to recover from.

The Eagles defeated the Niners comfortably in the NFC championship, after the latter was forced to play without a recognised quarterback on the roster after injuries to Trey Lance, Jimmy Garoppolo and Brock Purdy.

But one Niners player has stated why he believes the Chiefs have a huge advantage to defeat them on Sunday. Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk told SFNiners YouTube show: "I don't know fully about that Eagles defence. They talk about them being a good defence. I'm not too sure.

"I think this Kansas City pass game will expose what we thought we were going to be able to expose before some unfortunate circumstances. We'll see. But like I said, you got to get lucky to win a Super Bowl. And they just got extremely lucky last week."

Mahomes has had an incredible season in 2022, bouncing back from his worst year the previous year and surprising doing it all without Tyreek Hill. The superstar wide receiver was traded to the Miami Dolphins for a huge haul of draft picks - in a move that many presumed would see the quarterback's play drop off.

The Chiefs did not truly adequately replace Hill with one player, instead doing so in the aggregate, with newcomers JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney all performing well, but not spectacularly.

However, Mahomes' connection with superstar tight end Travis Kelce remain as the deadliest in the NFL, with no team seemingly being able to cover the big receiver so far this season.
