North Melbourne midfielder Jy Simpkin has escaped with fines for striking Hawthorn pair Tom Mitchell and Finn Maginness but teammate Flynn Perez has copped a one-match suspension for rough conduct.

Simpkin was dealt $2000 and $1500 sanctions over the separate striking incidents, which occurred during the third and fourth quarters of a fiery encounter at Hobart's Blundstone Arena on Saturday.

Simpkin was also on the receiving end of one of the 11 charges laid against players for engaging in melees, costing them a combined $11,500.

North Melbourne's Jack Ziebell (two), Cam Zurhaar, Paul Curtis and Callum Coleman-Jones all copped $1000 fines, as did Hawthorn's Denver Grainger-Barrass (two), Blake Hardwick, James Blanck and Maginness.

Simpkin received a $1500 whack, taking his total sanctions out of the match to $5000.

Third-year Kangaroo Perez's contact with Hawks midfielder Jaeger O'Meara will cost him a week on the sidelines unless he can successfully challenge the rough conduct charge.

The first-quarter incident was graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

The review of Saturday night's Q-Clash led to Brisbane's Noah Answerth and Gold Coast's Ben Ainsworth both being fined $1500 for wrestling each other.

But Suns forward Levi Casboult has no case to answer over his high contact with Daniel Rich, which was deemed "not unreasonable in the circumstances" by the match review officer.

Meanwhile, Adelaide's Nick Murray copped a $1000 fine for misconduct against Sydney's Will Hayward.
