Kambosos Jr is back on home soil at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium as he defends the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring belts he won by stunning Teofimo Lopez at Madison Square Garden in November.
Backed by a sold-out crowd, he is once again the underdog as he comes up against long-reigning WBC champion Haney, with a bitter rivalry brewing between the two confident fighters.
It is the latest eagerly-anticipated showdown in boxing’s ultra-talented 135-pound division, with the likes of Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis sure to be an interested spectator following his own destructive knockout of Rolly Romero in New York last weekend.
The winner of this bout could face Vasiliy Lomachenko next, with the former three-weight world champion back in training after returning to help defend his homeland of Ukraine.
