Kamaru Usman performs U-turn on Jake Paul fight as UFC star sets out his demands

Kamaru Usman is now willing to face Jake Paul in the boxing ring but only if he is paid $100million (£76m).

The 'Nigerian Nightmare' has spoken frequently about a potential switch to the boxing ring while he continues to campaign as the UFC's welterweight champion.

Paul has previously predicted he would make light work of the UFC star in the boxing ring and included him on his 13-man hit-list.

Usman has now claimed that every pay-per-view Paul has sold during his short boxing career does not yet add up to his own recent pay-per-view number.

“Absolutely, but these guys are making a lot of noise," Usman told Club Shay Shay. "They got the YouTubers and they got this new generation, these new kids involved and watching them. That’s fine, but they don’t equate to dollars.

Jake Paul says ‘we doing these numbers.’ You can add up every fight Jake Paul has had, but the pay-per-view numbers weren’t more than what I did in my last fight.

"Write me a check for $100 million, Jake Paul and I’ll be there to kick your ass next week.”

Paul's initial clash with former UFC star Tyron Woodley sold over 500,00 pay-per-views which was considered a huge success.

However his rematch with the retired champion significantly underperformed with claims suggesting the event only reached around the 65,000 mark.

Nonetheless, Paul has earned lucrative paydays from his recent clashes with Woodley grossing around £10m for each fight which placed him third in the fighting rich-list for last year.

Paul has made a significant influence in boxing calling out some of the UFC's biggest names including Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal.

Usman recently ruled out a bout against Paul, saying when asked by a fan: "What? Boo this man one time, listen, listen, if we’re going to fight, we’re going to fight a real fight.

"I’m going to answer your question, if we’re going to fight, we’re going to fight a real fighter. A real fighter."

Paul's label Most Valuable Promotions later responded with a bold tweet: "Just another UFC fighter who signed a bad deal and now trying to make a real payday. He called out JAKE in May of last year."

Usman has previously vowed to end Paul's boxing career by claiming he would kick his a** in the boxing ring.

Paul accepted the offer and vowed to hand the UFC's leading star a bumper payday to secure the clash.

The YouTube star is currently taking time out of the ring while he assesses his next options while Usman has also called out boxing's leading star Canelo Alvarez to a crossover bout.
