Kamara, Pogba, Tripper - Manchester United transfer rumours rated

January is getting ever closer and Manchester United will soon be able to do some business.

While in all likelihood January will once again be a quiet month as the pandemic impacts how clubs do business, there is plenty of speculation surrounding United.

The club continues to be linked with moves for several players while the futures of some current stars remains up in the air.

Here, MEN Sport rates some of the day's biggest rumours.

Boubacar Kamara

FourFourTwo claim United are in advanced talks for Marseille midfielder Kamara and that with his contract running out he would only cost £10m.

If United were to strengthen any position in the winter window it would likely be in defensive-midfield, with it being understood the club will move for one if a good opportunity presents itself.

While the highly-rated Kamara for a low fee would certainly seem like a coup, it's unclear whether United hold any interest in the 22-year-old. RB Leipzig's Amadou Haidara appears to be a more likely target.

Paul Pogba

According to ESPN, United expect Paul Pogba to stay at Old Trafford in January and would only consider selling him if the midfielder outright tells the club that he will not be signing a new deal.

While it's looking increasingly likely that Pogba will call time on his United career when his contract expires in the summer regardless, United will likely find it hard to find any buyer when clubs know he will be available on a free in six months time, especially as he has been out injured for the last month.

Any move in January, as a result, does seem unlikely and Ralf Rangnick has spoken of how he is excited to play the Frenchman once he is back fit.

Kieran Trippier

A number of clubs, including United, are interested in signing Trippier in January, according to 90min, with the other teams being: Newcastle, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Everton and Wolves.

United certainly wanted to sign Trippier in the summer as they looked for strong competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka but Atletico Madrid's hefty demands put them off.

In the months since Diogo Dalot has taken his chance under Rangnick to become first-choice so the need for a new right-back isn't as pressing, with midfield likely a bigger priority.
