Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has made a decision regarding additional September debates with Donald Trump and JD Vance. The campaign declined invitations to participate in more debates, stating that 'the debate about debates is over.' However, Harris will be taking part in a debate with Trump hosted by ABC on September 10, while Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will engage in a debate with Vance hosted by CBS on October 1.
A senior campaign adviser mentioned that Harris is open to the possibility of an additional debate with Trump in October, but the specifics will only be finalized after the first debate takes place. The adviser indicated that assuming Trump participates in the first debate, Harris is willing to engage in a second debate.
On the other hand, JD Vance confirmed his participation in the CBS debate and accepted an invitation from CNN for an additional debate in September. Trump, during a news conference last week, agreed to participate in the ABC debate with Harris and also acknowledged accepting debate invitations from Fox News and NBC for more debates in September.
