Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is currently running digital ads in Michigan focusing on the vice president’s concern for Palestinian civilians, as part of a strategic effort to influence a crucial demographic in the battleground state.
In one of the ads, Harris is quoted as saying, “I will not be silent about the scale of human suffering in Gaza, including the death of far too many innocent civilians.” She further emphasizes, “Our common humanity compels us to act.”
The video prominently displays the text “VP HARRIS WILL NOT BE SILENT ABOUT HUMAN SUFFERING IN GAZA.”
Another ad showcases additional clips of Harris expressing her dismay over the loss of Palestinian lives. She states, “What happened in Gaza over the past nine months is devastating. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering, and I will not be silent.” These ads mark the first instance of the Harris campaign addressing the ongoing Gaza conflict.
The ads were launched this week, with data from Google revealing that the campaign has allocated a modest budget of a few hundred dollars for each spot. While these figures may seem small in the context of a presidential campaign with substantial ad spending, they are sufficient for precise targeting of key voters, especially considering the minimal production costs involved.
The situation intensified recently when a super PAC affiliated with the GOP initiated its own highly targeted digital advertising campaign in Michigan. This campaign featured anti-semitic ads that highlighted the Jewish faith of Harris’ husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, while also emphasizing Harris’ support for Israel.
