Notts County's Kairo Mitchell insists he is continuing to push for a place in Luke Williams' starting XI, following his first goal of the season on a bittersweet afternoon for the Notts number seven.
The Magpies were twice pegged back at Meadow Park, and Mitchell had put his side 2-1 up just eight minutes after being introduced to the action, but then gave away a penalty that saw Tyrone Marsh place the ball beyond Sam Slocombe.
Despite giving away the penalty, the 24-year-old remained upbeat about his performance, and reiterated his ambitions to make his way into the starting XI this season.

Speaking after the game, Mitchell said: "I think to get off the mark early on in the season is a positive and something that can only work in my favour for the future.
"I always want come on and impact the game the best I can, but to start the game is something I am working towards doing regularly."
The centre forward proved a tricky customer for the Boreham Wood defence following his introduction, competing admirably in aerial duels against the home side's towering defence.
In a tactical switch by Williams, Mitchell replaced Sam Austin, allowing Macauley Langstaff to drop slightly deeper into the number ten position, and that switch came to fruition almost immediately.
"To get on and get a goal is a bright point for me personally but like I said, it is a little bittersweet to concede late on and give away the game," said Mitchell.
"Bringing me on gives the team a different dynamic and obviously it allows Macca (Langstaff) to become free and in those pockets and for my goal, he found that little bit of space to turn and slot me in."
And the way in which Mitchell took his goal was something to be admired. After picking the ball up 25 yards from goal, he managed to turn and twist around a couple of Boreham Wood defenders, before firing a sweet left-footed strike beyond the grasp of Nathan Ashmore.
"Yeah, it was quite a good finish and it's something that I have been working on in training so I was pleased that it came of on the day.
"For me, I always want to get on the pitch and do the best I can and help have an impact on the game, and help the team do well," said Mitchell.
