He only lasted two weeks on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, but Kai Widdrington will be on the show's live tour, to partner Helen Skelton in a move that fans definitely didn't see coming.
Kai has had a rollercoaster of a time on Strictly so far, since joining as a pro dancer last year. His first celebrity partner was TV host AJ Odudu, with the pair making it all the way to the final, before they suffered an agonising blow when AJ suffered an injury in rehearsals, with just days to go, forcing them to pull out of competing and having to watch from the sidelines as Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice lifted the Glitterball trophy.
Fast forward 12 months and Kai was nowhere near the final this year, with him and celeb partner, Loose Women host Kaye Adams kicked off in the first elimination, after just two weeks in the ballroom. That meant that, other than seeing him in pro group numbers and a routine with other half Nadiya, viewers haven't seen much of Kai this series.

However, fans will certainly see more of him in the new year, as it has been confirmed that Kai is on the line-up for the upcoming Strictly tour, to team up with Helen. Their partnership will come as a shock to fans, given that they assumed that, if she did the tour, Helen would be dancing with Gorka Marquez.
Strictly fans were quick to react to the news when it surfaced on Tuesday afternoon. One took to Twitter to post: "Wow, what a line-up. It's a shame Gorka isn't with Helen but I'm sure that Kai will be a fantastic replacement," with another tweeting: "uhh helen and kai doing live tour together, what a duo."
