Kai Kennedy wanted as Rangers starlet used for transfer makeweight by Partick Thistle in Cameron Cooper deal

Partick Thistle are keen to take Rangers youngsters Kai Kennedy and James Maxwell on-loan.

Jags boss Ian McCall wants the pair to help bolster his side's Championship promotion push for next season.

The loan duo could even be used as part of a deal for Rangers to sign Cameron Cooper.

The Light Blues want to land the Scotland under-17 striker and are trying to strike a compensation deal with Thistle.

Kennedy and Maxwell both have extensive Championship experience.

Kennedy has had spells at Inverness, Raith, Dunfermline and Hamilton.

Maxwell has had spells at Queen of the South and Ayr United.

Additional loan spells could help the young pair could progress with the hopes of impressing Gers boss Gio van Bronckhorst.

Rangers are looking to bolster their under-age teams and that is where Cooper comes into the equation.

They have signed Lancelot Pollard from Aberdeen and are keen on Millwall’s Zak Lovelace.

They have also been consistently linked with Motherwell youngster Bailey Rice.
