Kai Havertz ‘relaxed’ about Arsenal form in new response to doubters

Kai Havertz has moved to assure Arsenal supporters that things will get better.

The German international has struggled to convince since a £65m move from Chelsea and has been criticised in some quarters.

While Mikel Arteta has urged patience, the German international’s reasonably divisive standing towards the back of end of his time at Chelsea as well as his big price tag naturally invite scrutiny.

In his defence, Havertz has been deployed in a deeper role to the one he generally occupied while a Blues player and the 24-year-old insists the process will take time.

Speaking while away on international duty with Germany, Havertz told a press conference: “I’ve often had a phase and that you often only see the negative. It’s not the first club where I’m starting over.

“Of course, you want to be successful as quickly as possible, but I know that there are phases like that. I try to approach it in a relaxed manner.”
