Kade Warner, Son of Kurt, Signs With Bucs As Undrafted Free Agent

As soon as the 2023 NFL draft ended, teams immediately pivoted to the undrafted free agency pool to add to their rosters. For one team, that meant adding the son of a Pro Football Hall of Famer.

On Saturday evening, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Kade Warner, legendary quarterback Kurt Warner’s son, as part of their undrafted free agent class. Warner is a wide receiver out of Kansas State who started his career at Nebraska before transferring to the Wildcats.

After four years with relatively modest production, Warner’s best season came last year, when he totaled 46 catches for 456 yards and five touchdowns, all of which were career highs.

Kurt Warner was famously undrafted himself, having to play in the Arena Football League and in Europe before getting a shot with the Rams. He would then go on to win Super Bowl XXXIV for St. Louis and ultimately was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017.

It remains to be seen whether Kade can beat the odds just like his father did, but he will have the opportunity to do so in Tampa Bay.
