Say a hello to the brand new JVC LX-NZ30. A high-end 4K HDR projector pitched equally at movie buffs and avid gamers, the LX-NZ30 displays detailed 4K resolution using over 8 million pixels from a 0.47-inch chip. Consider us impressed.
Better still, JVC has used its own BLU-Escent laser diodes as light sources. As a result, the LX-NZ30 delivers a peak brightness of 3300 lumens (a healthy 10 per cent up on its predecessor, the NZ3). That should make for a fabulous picture day or night. Lamp life is rated as 20,000 hours, or enough to watch 2.5 hours a day for 20 years!
Support for High Dynamic Range (HDR10 and HLG) means that the LX-NZ30 will automatically serve up your favourite films and TV shows in the best possible quality, without the need to fiddle with any settings, and it should also deliver good black levels.
Love gaming? JVC has pulled out all the stops to catch the eye of Call of Duty fans with what sounds like a winning combination: a high frame rate of 240Hz plus a low latency of 6.25 milliseconds. If you’re in the market for smooth, low-lag gameplay on a screen larger than 100 inches, the LX-NZ30 might be just the ticket.
Setting up the LX-NZ30 should be hassle-free thanks to the lens shift of plus/minus 60 per cent vertical, and 23 per cent horizontal. There’s also a 1.6x zoom to enable a flexible projection range of 299 – 478cm when using a 100-inch screen.
You get plenty of connections to play with, too, including dual HDMI Inputs (HDCP 2.2), USB Direct Connect and a DisplayPort 1.2a input for direct connection to compatible PCs.
Available now, the JVC LX-NZ30 comes in black or white and is priced at £3,899. We’re yet to review the LX-NZ30, but given its gaming features and cinema smarts, JVC could well have another hit on its hands…
