Juventus have suggested interest in Anthony Martial will go nowhere due to a lack of 'discount' offered by Manchester United.
The 26-year-old continues to look for a move away from Old Trafford this month amid what has been an eventful few days for the France international.
Having revealed his desire to leave in sit-down talks with Ralf Rangnick, the interim manager told reporters that the forward refused to play against Aston Villa, an accusation that Martial shut down in a social media message to United supporters.
Rangnick has since drawn a line under the matter during his latest pre-match press conference without backtracking on his initial claim. Martial on Tuesday travelled with the United squad for tonight's Premier League game against mid-table Brentford.
Key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom have already knocked back one approach for the player this month.
Sevilla outlined their wish to sign Martial on a loan deal until the end of this season, but that was rejected on account of the Spanish side not being willing, or able, to cover his £200,000-a-week wage.
Now, according to Juventus director Maurizio Arrivabene, finance has been a stumbling block for the Italians.
Speaking about a possible agreement for Martial, he said: "With the current conditions, it's not feasible for us.

"Considering certain numbers, there are no advanced talks. We don't expect any discount from Man United."
Outlining in-depth transfer talks with Martial last month, Rangnick said: "We spoke at length. He explained to me he's been at Manchester United now for the last seven years and he feels it's the right time for a change and to go somewhere else."
