Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri jokes at potential Paul Pogba return from Man United

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has joked at the possibility of Paul Pogba returning to the Serie A club.

Pogba joined Manchester United from Juve back in 2016 for a fee of £94.5m. The French midfielder had previously been snapped up by the Serie A giants in 2012 having been allowed to leave the club following tensions between Sir Alex Ferguson and his then-agent Mino Raiola.

Since Pogba arrived back in England he has struggled to reach the heights that was expected of him and, with his contract expiring in the summer he is expected to leave United once more as a free agent. One of the clubs linked to signing the 29-year-old is Juventus and reports have speculated that a move to Turin is Pogba's preferred next step.

However, when posed the question as to whether Pogba would be returning to Italy, Allegri gave a tongue-in-cheek response. Speaking to DAZN, Allegri replied: "He won’t be back, he is afraid of challenging me.

"He lost playing with foot and hands. That’s why he left.

"That’s the real reason why he left." Allegri's foot and hands comment is believed to be in reference to football and basketball challenges the pair competed in during Pogba's first stint at Juventus.
