NSYNC's involvement was hinted at by Timberlake himself on TikTok, where he previewed the deluxe vinyl edition of the album. The group's reunion was officially announced last year at the MTV VMAs, where they presented an award to Taylor Swift. Since then, Timberlake has been teasing new music from NSYNC, indicating that they have been working together in the studio.
The album opens with a track called 'Memphis,' paying homage to Timberlake's hometown, and also features a song titled 'F**kin' Up the Disco.' With a total of 18 tracks, 'Everything I Thought It Was' promises a return to the 'fun Justin' that fans have come to love. The first single, 'Selfish,' was debuted at a special concert in Memphis.
Producer Timbaland, who has been working closely with Timberlake on the album, described the sound as reminiscent of 'FutureSex/LoveSounds,' emphasizing a focus on upbeat, danceable music. The duo aims to capture a youthful and carefree spirit in the album, steering away from overly complex themes.
In addition to the album release, Timberlake is gearing up for his 'Forget Tomorrow' tour, which kicks off on April 29 in Vancouver, B.C. The tour will support his first solo album in five years, generating excitement among fans eager to experience Timberlake's latest musical offerings.
