Justin Thomas is never afraid to open up to his fans and followers about the lofty goals he sets for himself every year. On Monday, Thomas revealed his goals for the 2021-22 PGA Tour season, talking about his year and opening up on some of the things he wanted to achieve.
Make the Tour Championship? Check. At least one major win? Check. +.35 Strokes Gained Around the Green? Check.
Some of the ones he didn’t quite reach? Four wins. Top 10s in every major. Reaching No. 1 in the world.
Thomas said he had a lot of good during his eighth PGA Tour season, but he didn’t think the results showed just that. He made the cut in all but two of his 21 events and had 10 top-10 finishes. He earned just under $7 million in official earnings and had a 69.5 scoring average.
Thomas finished tied for fifth at the Tour Championship on Sunday, earning $2.75 million in bonus money.
Not often will PGA Tour pros open up about their personal goals or go as in depth as Thomas does with his lists, which he also shared last year and following the 2017-18 season. Yet it gives a glimpse into how Thomas, who’s ranked seventh in the Official World Golf Ranking, pushes himself to be even better.
Thomas will represent the U.S. in the Presidents Cup next month at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
