Justin Lin to direct Keanu Reeves' BRZRKR

Justin Lin to direct Keanu Reeves' BRZRKR

Justin Lin will direct the adaptation of Keanu Reeves' comic 'BRZRKR' for Netflix.

The 'Fast Furious' franchise filmmaker will helm the ambitious project, which Keanu will star in as well as produce.

Lin will also produce via his Perfect Storm company, alongside Stephen Christy for Boom! Studios, Stephen Hamel of Company Films and Ross Richie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

'Batman 2' co-writer Mattson Tomlin has adapted 'BRZKRK' for the streaming service.

According to Netflix and Boom!, 'BRZKRK' is "a brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000 year fight through the ages. The man known only as ‘B’ is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence, even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge — working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires — the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence … and how to end it".

Keanu and Lin previously worked together on Lin's indie movie 'Last Days', which tells the story of missionary John Allen Chau, who was killed by a tribe living on an island in the Indian Ocean.

After financing fell through, Keanu stepped in.

Justin told Collider: "For a year, we thought we had our financing, and I met some people, and it turned out not to be true. It’s one of those darkest moments where I felt like, ‘I tried my best. We tried.’ I felt really bad because (actor) Sky Yang was already prepping, and I’m like, ‘Oh, I think that’s it…’ Then Keanu called out of the blue, and he’s like, ‘I heard you’re having some problems. I want to help.’ It was so inspirational."
