Justin Fields’ latest magical run involved him weaving through most of the Eagles defense

In a tough season for the Chicago Bears, they can at least count on the week-to-week wizardry of Justin Fields. Seemingly every game, the gifted young quarterback pulls a rabbit out of his hat and simply just makes defenders look silly. We saw it again early on against the Philadelphia Eagles.

After getting sacked and fumbling on the previous play, the Bears faced a second and 27. In most circumstances, you’d probably see very small odds of them actually eventually converting and moving the chains. But Fields seemingly lives for the extraordinary in adverse circumstances.

So when he saw pressure from the Eagles’ defensive front, Fields cast a spell and weaved his way through the Philly defense for another magical 39-yard run:

I’m just as amazed as you that this wasn’t a touchdown run (because Fields stepped out near the end). But who cares? It doesn’t erase the overall magic of the entire play. Plus, David Montgomery would score not soon after on a run of his own to punctuate the “drive” and give the Bears a 6-3 lead.

The Bears may be horrid overall this year, but their future could be pretty bright, thanks to Fields’ talents.
