Justin Bieber is reportedly using his desire to be a father as motivation to get through his recent struggles with mental health.

Bieber, 25, has spoken honestly and openly in recent weeks about his mental wellbeing and most recently told fans that he was going to put his music on the backburner to concentrate on “repairing some deep rooted issues […] to sustain his marriage and be the father I want to be”.

And sources claim that Bieber, who married Hailey Baldwin last year, is “ready to be a dad” so is determined to “get things figured out”.

“That’s what he wants to be. He knows that he has to get things figured out so that he can be the dad he wants to be,” the insider told PEOPLE. “Being a dad is his dream right now.”

The source also told the publication that the Sorry singer has made “big strides” in his recovery and is “growing from a boy to a man”.

They added: “What he wants is to be a man of integrity, a great husband, a fantastic dad, and a spiritual person. He’s making amazing progress.”

On Monday, Bieber posted a lengthy statement on his Instagram to update his loyal fans on whether or not they would see any new music or a tour soon.

“I’ve toured my whole teenage life, and early 20s, I realised and as you guys probably saw I was unhappy last tour and I don’t deserve that and you don’t deserve that,” he wrote.

He continued: “Music is very important to me but nothing comes before my family and my health.”

He went on to promise fans that he will eventually return with new music, telling them: “I will come with a kick a** album ASAP, my swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable, his love is supernatural, his grace is that reliable.”

The post came weeks after Bieber used the social media platform to say that he was “struggling a lot” and asked fans to “pray for him”.

He said: “I always bounce back so I’m not worried just wanted to reach out and ask for your [sic] guys to pray for me.”
