Justin Bieber shuts down drug allegations: 'It's exhausting and pitiful'

Justin Bieber’s team has firmly denied recent rumours suggesting the singer is using drugs, following public concerns about his behaviour.

In a statement to Rolling Stone, representatives for both Bieber and his wife, Hailey Bieber, dismissed the speculation, calling the public’s ongoing scrutiny of the singer’s mental and physical health “exhausting and pitiful.”

The statement further criticised the public’s obsession with negative narratives, saying it “shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”

The denial comes after a wave of online chatter sparked by recent photos showing Bieber looking noticeably tired, with dark circles under his eyes.

The images led to a flood of unfounded assumptions about his well-being.

According to TMZ, the singer had just come off an all-night recording session and had also been up caring for his newborn son, who was having trouble sleeping.

Bieber’s representatives highlighted that the past year has been a period of significant change for the 29-year-old artist.

“It’s been very transformative for him,” the statement noted, explaining that Bieber has cut ties with several close friends and ended business relationships that “no longer served him.”

While the internet buzzed with concerns, Bieber has remained focused on two things: his growing family and his music. He’s been spending time with his wife, Hailey, and their newborn son while actively working on new music projects.

This isn’t the first time Bieber has faced public speculation about his health. The singer has been transparent about his past struggles with drug addiction.

In a 2021 GQ interview, he opened up about the lowest points in his life, sharing that his drug use had once become so severe that security guards would check his pulse at night to ensure he was still alive.

“There was a sense of still yearning for more,” Bieber reflected during the interview.

“It was like I had all this success, and it was still like: ‘I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. And I still have these unresolved issues.’ I thought all the success was going to make everything good.”

Bieber credited his eventual sobriety in 2014 as a turning point, though he continues to drink alcohol socially. Since then, he has openly discussed his journey toward mental health, healing, and self-improvement.

Despite the recent speculation he participated in a charity hockey game alongside stars like Steve Carell and Ross Lynch, raising funds for Los Angeles wildfire relief over the weekend.
