Justin Bieber has taken to Instagram to claim that “someone” had hacked his account after eagle-eyed fans noticed that the “Sorry” singer wasn’t following his wife Hailey Bieber.
Justin took to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday (local time) to set the record straight.
“Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife,” he wrote, in a post that has now been deleted.
“Shit is getting suss out here.”
Fans initially noticed that Justin wasn’t following Hailey earlier that day, and as you’d expect, it sent the Belibers into a frenzy — especially in light of the rumours that the young couple were having marital issues.
“DID THEY SEPARATE,” wrote one concerned X (formerly Twitter) user.
“She still follows him sooo hopefully it was a mistake by Justin,” wrote another.
“This is so embarrassing for both of them regardless of whether it’s a publicity stunt or not. That’s literally the mother of his child?? ” a third commenter wrote.
While the unfollowing situation happened, Hailey and Justin — who now share a five-month-old son Jack Blues — were on holiday together in Aspen. Throughout their trip, the couple had been posting loved-up pictures of each other.
Whispers that Justin and Hailey’s marriage has been on the rocks kicked off in early 2024 after Hailey’s dad Stephen Baldwin re-shared a post from a minister named Victor Marx. The post was a video of Justin singing “Peaches” with a text overlay which read, “Christians, please when you think of Justin and Hailey, take a moment to offer a little prayer for them to have wisdom, protection and to draw close to the Lord”.
Fans took this to mean that the relationship was in trouble and Hailey was reportedly pissed that her dad (and the minister, for that matter) went public with any information about their relationship.
Hailey’s camp ended up refuting divorce rumours in April 2024, when a source told People that “there’s no divorce and no truth to that whatsoever. They are very, very happy”.
