In a not-so-surprising turn of events, Justin Baldoni‘s lawyer has revealed that the actor was not jazzed by Ryan Reynolds’ joke about his legal beef with Blake Lively on the Saturday Night Live 50-year anniversary special.
In case you missed it, the Deadpool star referenced his wife’s beef with Baldoni on SNL50 during Amy Pohler and Tina Fey‘s monologue after the dynamic duo asked how he was.
“Great. Why? What have you heard?” he quipped, clearly referring to the ongoing legal battle between Baldoni and Lively.

During an interview on Hot Mics with Billy Bush, Justin’s lawyer Bryan Freedman revealed that he was “surprised” by the punchline’s inclusion.
“I’m unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation,” he told host Billy Bush.
“I can’t think of anyone who’s done anything like that. So it surprised me.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Freedman also gave an update on how Baldoni is coping amidst the legal strife.
“I think he’s hopeful. I think he’s grateful he’s with his family,” he said.
“Like anyone else who would be going through a situation where you’re accused of something you didn’t do and are accused of something in a public way, I think it’s distressful, to say the least.”
Freedman also mentioned that Baldoni and his family are currently on a month-long trip to Hawaii but noted that it was not a vacation but rather an attempt to “get some semblance of peace”.

As it stands, Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s court date has been set for March 9, 2026. So, that means we’ll potentially be facing a whole year of their public squabbles until this whole thing is resolved.
Whether you love it or hate it, let’s buckle in for a bumpy ride.
