This decision rejected arguments put forth by gun rights groups who claimed that the law infringed upon the Second Amendment. Alito has recently made headlines for controversial displays of flags outside his properties, including an incident where a US flag was flown upside down outside his residence in 2021. Additionally, another flag was displayed during the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, which was flown outside Alito's vacation home in New Jersey.
