A number of Manchester United supporters have taken the chance to send a message to the club's potential new owners after Jude Bellingham's move to Real Madrid was confirmed.
The 19-year-old has joined the Spanish heavyweights from German club Borussia Dortmund in a deal that could end up being worth £115million. Confirmation of his move to the Spanish capital finally brings an end to ongoing speculation about his future, as well as reports connecting him with a move to Old Trafford.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News back in December, United had not ruled out the prospect of making a second attempt to bring Bellingham to Old Trafford this summer. Manager Erik ten Hag is a massive fan of the youngster and was understood to have told confidants that if he could sign any player in the world it would be him.
Bellingham visited United's Carrington training ground back in March 2020 just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. The Reds were understood to have done all they could to try and convince the then-Birmingham City star that a switch to Old Trafford would have been the right move for him.

Bellingham joined Dortmund in July 2020 and he went up through the gears. He joins Madrid having made 132 appearances for the German club, scoring 24 goals and grabbing 25 assists.
The 19-year-old, who will almost certainly return to Germany next summer with England for the European Championship, will now be hoping to kick on in the famous colours of Madrid, who have also been long-term admirers of the central midfielder. But although it is a move that has been on the cards for a while, confirmation of his switch to Spain proved a difficult one for many United supporters to stomach.
They have shared their frustrations at the Glazers' running of the club and United allowing him to escape their clutches after he visited Carrington a few years ago. Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what they have had to say on social media:
